A mobile ramp is an inclined metal platform that looks like a bridge. It makes loading and unloading for heavy goods easy. They are commonly used in warehouses as a way to make work easier. It is a mobile ramp because it can move from one location to another.

The ramp is raised and lowered using a jack and fixed at the required height using telescopic racks. It can be adjusted in height to fully meet the needs of the user.  Due to its hydraulic system, the ramp serves as a link between the ground and the level of the offloading or loading truck.

How does a mobile ramp work?

  • The mobile ramp is moved around a warehouse using integrated wheels. The forklift driver is the one who prepares the mobile ramp for operation. The following steps are undertaken:
  • Using hydraulics, the forklift driver will set the proper ramp height to connect it with a truck.
  • The driver will press the special lever and relieve pressure in the hydraulic system of the ramp. This is to make sure the ramp is able to sink down and lay firmly on the edge of the truck body.
  • The mobile ramp is firmly fixed to the truck for safe operation using chains and wheel locks.
  • Once secured, the ramp is ready for use and the forklift driver can start offloading or loading. The whole set up takes about 5 minutes.

Beneficial features of the mobile ramps

  • They help make work easier by distributing the load on the bearing elements of the structure
  • They last long – the galvanized ramp surface does not corrode
  • They are easy to transport in a disassembled form in a truck with a body length of up to 6 meters.
  • They have durable metal rubberized wheels. They are repairable when damaged.
  • They have installed eye bolts to help with easy loading and unloading.
